7 Days Cambodia Family Tour with Dolphin Watching

After arriving in Siem Reap, spend two days exploring the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. Then take a boat tour of Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, which swells to four times its normal size during the rainy season, provides life for many communities, and visits Kampung Paruk Village to see its stilt houses and learn how people adapt to life in this water . After that, transfer to Kratie on the first day to visit the famous attractions in the city. On the next day, get up in the morning and take a motorcycle tour of Gambier village to discover the cute Irrawaddy dolphin.

Day 1 Arrive in Siem Reap, Half Day Angkor Wat

Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will be welcomed by our local guide at the airport then escorts to hotel. After check in and a short rest, your private guide will escort you to discover the world’s wonder site—Angkor Wat, the magnificent temple was built in 12th century and it is the largest first Hindu, Buddhist temle complex and the largest religious monument in the world. On your way back to Siem Reap, enjoy the sunset from the top of the pyramid-shaped temple of Pre Rup.

Day 2 Siem Reap-Easy Biking in Style

Angkor Thom-06

Today, you and your kids will enjoy a relaxing but fun biking tour in the Angkor Thom. It is an easy biking route but with temples, rural scenery, good road and easy off road conditions.

The biking tour will start near Angkor Wat towards theAngkor Thom which was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer Empire. When you reach the south gate of the Angkor Thom, bike along the city wall to the West gate with a stop to visit the Corner Temple in the midway. Near the West Gate, you will visit the village outside the city wall where you will discover the daily life of local villagers.

After visiting the village, bike inside the Angkor Thom and visit the Bayon Temple where you will be surrounded by 216 gigantic stone faces which fame as “Khmer Smile”, you will also visit the Terrace of Elephants, the Royal Palaceand the Terrace of the Leper King.

Continue to bike heading north to get away with the crowed place with tour groups, you will bike through quiet path flanked by trees to the Temple Preah Khan and Ta Keo Temple. You easy biking trip will finish in Ta Prohm Temple, which is widely known as “lost to the jungle temple”.

You will be pick up by Tuk Tuk from Tap Prohm Temple and transfer back to hotel. Rest of the day will be free for you to relax, kids can have fun in the swimming pool.

In the morning, visit a half day excursion to the biggest Southeast Asia’s largest fresh water lake—Tonle Sap Lake. Your family will have fun in a ox cart ride through the countryside, then continue to have a boat trip to enjoy the beautiful lake view and mangrove forest on the lake, then spend rest of the morning at the largest village on the lake which is called Kompong Phluk, to discover the fascinating daily lives of the local people who leave on the water.

Rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax.

Day 4 Transfer to Kratie by private car (8 hrs)

Naga Bridge-01

Kratie, the home of Irrawaddy Dolphin, it will be a great fun for kids to watch the dolphin on the Mekong River.

Driving from Siem Reap to Kraite will take us about 7.5-8 hours including stop to visit some attractions along the way and lunch in the midway.

After depart from hotel, you will firstly stop to visit the Naga Bridge which was built in 12th century but perfectly reserved and now still using by local people. an ancient bridge. Second stop will be around lunch time in Kompong Thom Town to visit the ruined temples in Sombor Prei Kuk which used to be the ancient capital of the Khmer in the pre-angkorian period between 6th and 7th century. After lunch, you will keep driving towards Phnom Penh, you will stop to for a rest in a local market where people selling deep fried spiders and other incect as their local special delicacy. Arrive in Kratie in late afternoon, check in hotel and rest of day at leisure.

Day 5 Full Day Kratie Dolphin tour & Kayaking Trip

Discover the Irrawaddy Dolphin in the morning. Today we will drive around 15 km north from Kratie to the Kampi Village, where is the best place for dolphin watching. There are only around 85 dolphins in the Mekong, but there is a very good chance to see some at Kampi.

Transfer back to Kratie around noon time, the rest of the day is free at leisure.

In the afternoon, a Kayaking trip on the Mekong River will be also recommend to you where you will have fun in paddling kayaks with your kids.

Day 6 Transfer to Phnom Penh by private car, Visit Royal Palace
