ITINERARY
DAY 1
We pick you up at 8 AM from your accommodation in Chiang Mai and drive to the heart of Mae Wang’s lush countryside and reach our cycling start point near Baan Kart market after about one hour drive. Here, our first activity begins as we cycle through villages, past fruit farms, rice paddies, seasonal crops, and waterways enjoying northern Thai landscape along the way. Depending on the season, you may even get a chance to stop and help with planting or harvesting crops! We have a number of cycling trails available so discuss your wishes with your guide. After a two-hour ride, we stop for a well-earned lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we drive up the mountain to Spicy Villa Eco-lodges and you get settled in your bungalow. In the afternoon, we can hike a short way to a local waterfall, go for a swim, and hike back to Spicy Villa or we can have a bit longer trek in the jungle. At Spicy Villa, your guide teaches you to cook northern Thai dishes which you sample for a delicious dinner. After dinner, you spend the night in a wooden hillside bungalow.

Meals included: Lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Private bungalow at Spicy Villa Eco-Lodges
DAY 2
We suggest you wake early and enjoy the stunning views as the mists clear below you in the valleys before a home cooked breakfast. After, we head out for a walk across rice fields to a Karen village. If there are workers in the fields, you get to learn about traditional Thailand farming as we stop and lend a hand. At the village, you can interact with the locals and learn about their life. Ask your guide anything – he’s local and happy to share his culture with you! We also visit the village school where you can help the children learn some English. School visit depends on school operating hours.
We then start to trek in the jungle for about three hours. The length of the trek depends on your pace and number of stops along the way. Please discuss the trek with your guide a day before, so he can plan the route according to your wishes. During the trek, we stop at a local waterfall where you can go for a swim and we also eat lunch here.

In the afternoon, we drive to Wang river and prepare bamboo rafts. Bamboo rafting is a great way to enjoy the local countryside and rest after the morning’s trek; we calmly float down the river on a handmade bamboo raft for about an hour. Afterwards, we take you back to Chiang Mai.
