3 Days Mekong Delta Cycling Tour from Chau Doc to Ho Chi Minh City

Chau Doc Cycling To Ho Chi Minh City – 3 Days through the Mekong Delta is a network of distributaries in southwestern Vietnam, between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodia. The river itself begins in the Himalayas and goes through China, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia before reaching Vietnam, which partly explains why the waters are so murky
TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Chau Doc – Cao Lanh (L/D) (50-70 km)
8:00 AM pick you up from your hotel in Chau Doc. Today’s morning is to spend more than an hour motorboat learning how to raise catfish at a floating village and the life of poor people living on their small boats as their home. Then you will have easy and relaxing cycling along the meandering banks of the Mekong River, from village to village on quiet cycling paths where you could see farmers growing vegetables, water rice plants, and fishing on natural creeks. A big surprise to you is an architectural impressive monastery where you cycle to and you take a little time to explore the beautiful Mekong Delta countryside and cross the upper river before a transfer to Cao Lanh city.

Day 2: Cao Lanh – Sadec – Can Tho (B/L/D) (40- 70 km)
In the morning, you will have an opportunity to bike through villages of flowers, magnificent trees, ornamental flower beds, and fragrant flowers in the garden that attract butterflies, and bees. Stop for lunch at the house of Mr. Huynh Thuy Le, the central character in Marguerite Duras’s autobiographical novel, ‘L’Amant’. It considers a highlighted Site in the town of Sadec. After lunch, we leave Sadec for Can Tho city. We cycle on paths through scenic countryside, tiny villages with many rice powder mills, and past rice fields.

Day 3: Can Tho – Saigon (B/L/) (30 km)
Can Tho is known as the capital of the Mekong Delta. Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho City is one of the three biggest in the Mekong Delta. The shops and stalls at these markets are boats of different sizes. It is open all day but it is busiest from sunrise to about 9 am. The main items sold there are farm products and specialties of locals, and neighboring areas. Every boat has a long upright pole at its bow on which samples of the goods for sale are hung. Back to the hotel by the same boat and continue your trip by bicycle on the rural roads of the outskirts of Vinh Long. Have a short transfer to the restaurant before driving to Ho chi Minh city.
