7 Days Vietnam-Cambodia Cycling Tour from Ho Chi Minh City To Siem Reap

Cycling from Saigon To Siem Ream through to visit the Mekong Delta, usually from HCMC or Cambodia, though flying in is also possible. Once you’re there, the best way to experience life on the river is by boat. Mekong biking multi-day journeys are perfectly easy to organize and needn’t break the bank.
TOUR ITINERARY

Day 01: Ho Chi Minh – Tra Vinh (L/D) (45 km)
8:00 AM pick up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. After an hour and a half driving you to Ben Tre’s countryside where the ride begins. Ben Tre is famous in Vietnam for its vast coconut garden. It is located on the last of the Mekong River by the East. The afternoon cycling along the windy country roads to the largest section of Mekong River for a refreshing ferry boat ride crossing many small creeks. The easy riding on unique paths along lush green coconut palm trees, ride past local workshops until a publish ferry takes to further side of Co Chien River.

Day 02: Tra Vinh – Can Tho (B/L/D) (30 – 80 km)
Tra Vinh is famous for charming villages of Khmer minority people and the regional architecture is also very interesting. From the hotel, we follow a small road to the countryside to cross rice paddy to Tieu Can. There are many Khmer temples to visit and admire along the paths. Your guide will discuss with you your timing for the day depending on your preferences and cycling ability. Then the best routes will be chosen as well-tailor made. In the afternoon, your riding is easy on small country roads through grapefruit gardens. Especially with an opportunity for you to stay half an hour on small ferry boating through the natural creek to Binh Minh where you have a short transfer to a hotel in the city of Can Tho.

Day 03: Can Tho – Sadec – Cao Lanh (B/L/D) (40 – 60 km)
Today, you will see the floating market before you have a bicycle ride to Sadec town. In the morning, you ride past the sweet potato field and cycle along small natural rivers to the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le in Sadec. In the afternoon, you will have an opportunity to admire many flower gardens, ornamental plants, nursery gardens, and bonsai trees on your way of cycling to Cao Lanh city

Day 04: Cao Lanh – My Luong – Chau Doc (B/L/D) (40-80 km)
Today you will discover the lowland of Doing Thap province. You can see locals living on stilt houses and the last rice harvests usually happen before the flooded season. The highlight of today is to stop at the monastery which was built after the French invasion. It was inaugurated in 1877 and is three years older than the Notre Dame Cathedral in Saigon. After you have lunch, continue to rock and roll on the bike on country roads to Chau Doc border town

Day 05: Chau Doc – Phnom Penh by high-speed boat (B/L/) (no cycling)
It takes an hour to reach the Vinh Xuong border gate by high-speed boat. Continue by boat upstream of the Mekong River to the Phnom Penh capital. Free to explore the capital city on your own in the afternoon.

Day 06: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap (B/L) (30 km)
Today, you will ride 30 km and spend most of the time driving an A/C van to Siem Reap.

Day 07: Angkor complex tour (B/L/) (35 km)
Spend a whole day discovering Angkor Wat by bike, including Angkor Temple, Bayon Temple, and Angkor Thom.
Tour End ! in the late afternoon.
