1 Day Luang Prabang Bike To Kuang Sii Waterfall

Luang Prabang Bike To Kuang Sii Waterfall – Swim at Kuang Si, visit the bears, trek through peaceful villages and take a fun bike ride, all in one day. This trip runs Luang Prabang. Visit the Kuang Si Waterfall and the Free the Bears enclosure and take a trek through remote villages, before enjoying a swift and thrilling, mostly downhill bike ride back to Luang Prabang.

ears & Waterfalls
The day starts at 9 am from your hotel in Luang Prabang with a drive to Kuang Sii Waterfall. Here we visit the Free the Bears enclosure and learn about the great work that this organization is doing. There is time for a swim at the falls before we start our trek into the forest surrounding Kuang Sii.

Trekking
The trek starts through lowland rice paddies before entering a forest area. We cross a small stream and then start to climb up through the forest. Here we pass through stands of bamboo, areas planted with teak, and will also see ferns and other small plants along the way. We wind our way up to small trails and eventually reach the top of the climb and a well-deserved rest in the cool shade of a rubber plantation. From here we descend into an area of upland farming with crops such as hops and maize. A picnic lunch will be done during the trek. The small trail gradually widens out into a farm track and we meet up with the bikes in a small village surrounded by limestone hills.

Time to Bike
From here it’s an undulating ride along a dirt road that connects the settlements in this area where we will see pineapple plantations and an artificial lake. The last section of the ride is a well-earned downhill section that takes us back to Luang Prabang.

Please note that suitable walking shoes (runners, sneakers) are necessary, as is a hat and sunscreen. We provide water and snacks.

We cycle about 20km on dirt roads and tracks. It is not too difficult to negotiate the bumps, but some level of comfort on unsealed/unpaved surfaces is necessary.
