2 Days Nam Ha National Protected Area Kayaking and Rafting Tour

Nam Ha River Journey
29km Through the heart of the National Park

Your guide will give you kayaking or rafting instructions on the riverbank before you hit the water. Kayak down the Nam Ha River, right through the heart of the Nam Ha National Protected Area. Along your way, you will pass 3 jungle villages and learn about their local life.

You will continue down the river to our remote Fisherman Camp. Beyond, the river will carry you to the confluence with the Nam Tha River, the ‘sacred swimming hole’. From here you will kayak down the Nam Tha River. Stop to explore some of the minority villages along the way.

This tour can run very differently depending on the river level, and your preferences for easy vs. hard kayaking and homestay vs. jungle camp. You can have a leisurely Day 1 and spend the night in a homestay in Ban Nalan. On Day 2 you will have lunch at Fisherman Camp or Confluence Camp, and paddle the Nam Tha into the afternoon.

Or you can have a more active Day 1 and spend the night at our Fisherman Camp. On Day 2 you would visit our Confluence Camp and paddle even further down the Nam Tha.

Nam Ha Fishing Experience
Learn Local Fishing Techniques

DAY 1

Kayak down the Nam Ha River straight through the Nam Ha National Protected Area. As your guide finds good spots, you will stop and learn about the different methods of fishing used by the local people (nets, lines, spears, and by hand). Try your hand at the appropriate type and catch your own meal.

Heading into the jungle near the river, you can help your guide collect vegetables, herbs, and mushrooms to round out your meals.

Once you have found an open spot that is large enough, your guides will teach you how to build your own camp and how to prepare food using nothing but jungle materials.

DAY 2

On the second day, you will continue down the Nam Ha River engulfed in the green around you. The river will carry you to the confluence with the Nam Tha River, the ‘sacred swimming hole’. You can fish, help prepare your next meal, relax, swim or have a go at the rope swing before heading back.
