5 Days Mekong Delta Highlights Cycling To Tram Chim – Chau Doc – Can Tho

Cycling To Tram Chim – Chau Doc – Can Tho to the Mekong Delta is a network of distributaries in southwestern Vietnam, between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodia. The river itself starts in the Himalayas and passes through China, Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia before reaching Vietnam, which partly explains why the waters are so murky.
TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: HCMC – Cajuput forest – Cao Lanh city (L/D) (30-50 km)
8:00 AM pick up from your hotel and enjoy 2 hours driving from Saigon city to CaiBe’ countryside. Our bike guide will tailor-make nice routes to Xeo Quyt forest. The unique routes of Vietnam Backroads allow you to see the back roads of the Mekong Delta. You will ride on smoothly concrete paths among lush green orchards and have some ferry crossings through a network of irrigation canals. After an hour of trekking and boat rowing to explore the Xeo Quyt base then your lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue cycling to Cao Lanh city.

Day 2: Cao Lanh – Tram Chim Dist (B/L/D) (30 – 65 km)
Dong Thap province has been known as the lowest land in Mekong Delta it has a flooded season in during the wet season. You will spend a morning pedaling past villages of house-on-stilts, through mango fruit gardens, and race with local boats moving on rivers. After lunch, you continue to bike to Tram Chim Dist through huge rice paddies.

Day 3: Tram Chim stork sanctuary – Chau Doc (B/L/D) (40-65 km)
It’s depending on the season, and weather conditions of the time to visit, You may have a combined boat trip to discover this park and see red-headed cranes in the morning. After the boat trip to the forest, we will ride to Chau Doc town via, Dong Tien, Tan Chau Dist has many ferry crossings from Bassac River to Chau Doc town.

Day 4: Chau Doc – Can Tho (B/L/D) (50-80 km)
We will leave Chau Doc for Can Tho today. After an hour’s transfer to Long Xuyen city, All will get back to the bike for rolling. You will ride through a new farming area, which was abandoned before 1975. It has only been utilized for farming since 1980. (Vung Kinh Te Moi) Finish bike ride today in the urban Dist of Can Tho and have a short drive to the city center.

Day 5: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh (B/L) (30 km)
After your breakfast at the hotel, check out before you have a boat ride to the floating market of Cai Rang: this market is considered the biggest and busiest of all floating markets in the Mekong region. Disembark from the boat for the last half day of bicycling. A short transfer to the starting point, where your bike is ready to set up. Ride to Vinh Long via Tam Binh before having lunch at local and drive back to Ho Chi Minh City – End The Tour at your hotel.
