ITINERARY
DAY 1
We pick you up at 9 AM from either your accommodation or a convenient place in Chiang Mai city, such as the airport or train station. On the way to Mae Wang countryside, we first make a short stop at a local market for an opportunity to buy some supplies for your stay, including cooking ingredients for the cooking class.
Then we drive to the river and go bamboo rafting followed by a more exhilarating river tubing experience.

River tubing is not possible during hot season or during drought when river level is too low for this activity. We will substitute river tubing for a visit to local waterfall when water levels are insufficient.
After lunch, we drive to a local elephant camp for your first introduction to these magnificent animals. The elephant trainers (mahouts) and your guide teach you about elephants’ habits and how to communicate with them. We search the jungle for food and feed the elephants to build a connection. Our first class finishes with elephant bathing in the river which is a favourite activity for the elephants!

Afterwards, we walk to Spicy Villa Eco-Lodges where we have a Thai cooking class. We teach you how to prepare some traditional Thai dishes with fresh ingredients picked from our organic garden.

After dinner you spend a night at Spicy Villa in a jungle bungalow.

Meals included: Lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Spicy Villa Eco-Lodges
DAY 2
After an early breakfast, it’s time for your second lesson at the elephant camp. We come to the elephant camp as our elephants are waking up, feed them breakfast and lead them to the river for a morning bath. After about one and a half hour of hanging out with our elephants, it’s time to say goodbye and you can choose how to spend the time before we take you back to Chiang Mai:
You can either relax at Spicy Villa and enjoy the views from your bungalow or meditation platform, or help us with work on our organic farm.
Your guide can take you for a trek in the jungle which includes a visit to Karen tribe village and a stop at a local waterfall where you can go for a swim and have a jungle style lunch.
You can visit a local Karen tribe village with your guide who explains about the lifestyle of the villagers, takes you for a visit to the village school where you can teach children some English, and teaches you about traditional farming methods of the hill tribes.
